Daffodil Day

In Australia today its Cancer Council's Daffodil Day. The proceeds from the sale of 'live' daffodils and other merchandise is used for research, education and support services. Such a worthy cause, and I'm especially happy to support any charity that gives me something to brighten my day (and my home) in return for my donation!!

These are just so beautiful! Sunny yellow and orange - actually two of the 'hot' colours for the coming season. If only they would last for a few months .......

Here is Patsy sort of admiring the flowers before I put them in water. They are looking just a little sad here, probably something to do with the fact its over 30 degrees again today in Brisbane!

Weekly special offer!!!

Vietnamese Silk Lanterns again this week!! I have extended the $99 package deal for another week as it has been so popular (this deal available at dragonflyinteriors and lanternshop). I think this beautiful summery weather has got everyone thinking about decorating their outdoor areas and gardens. Sorry, not much more to report from this last week - Its been full-on and I'm weary now - I've been in my garage all week packing orders. Going to have a lovely Sunday afternoon nap next. I deserve it!!!

A million thankyou's to my very dear friend Ingrid at Inkala Images. What an incredibly talented photographer and stylist (and wonderful cook too)!!

Ingrid and her assistant Miss Molly invited me and my assistant Patsy to her lovely home to photograph my silk lanterns in her garden!! I can't wait to see the pics .... so exciting.

We also had time to sip tea from the butterfly tea set while we watched our hard working assistants play!!

Unfortunately, I took the pic of Patsy and Molly (not so great - sorry) and Ingrid took the amazing pic of our tea!!

Thanks again Ingrid - it didn't even feel like work today!

I was also very happy to see that Brittany used lanterns in her party theme - they look great!!
