The weather in Brisbane today is outrageously hot, and I'm feeling so flat and lethargic. Big sigh :-(
I've got so many things to do and no energy - I need a miracle herbal cure. Wish I was back in Saigon! I could take a trip to 'D Hai Thuong Lan Ong (the area of traditional herb shops). Here, you can purchase a natural remedy to fix any ailment or condition - now matter how big or small.
The sights and the aromas are like nothing I've ever seen before, and its such a busy place!!.
Each store has sacks and bags of goodies all spread on the pavement, and they have the very cute Chinese medicine chests which I love. To my untrained eye, all the stores seem the same to me - I wonder how you choose who to buy from!
This area is in the Cholon (China town) area, near some of the fabulous pagodas I blogged about recently (click here for pics).
Maybe, I just need a cup of green tea and a lie down ...... Its almost the weekend - help!!

I hear you Karen, this heat is really hurting me too. Maybe I may lay on the floor for awhile and sleep.....that's all I feel like doing!
I don't envy you in the heat, I would sooner be cold any day. Hope you feel fighting fit soon! XXX

Wow, that's a whole load of herbs. The brown bracket fungi looking thing in the foreground is a lingzhi, supposedly expensive Chinese herb good for everything :P
I hope you kicked up your feet with some tea by now! TGIF!

Hot, hot! What is hot??? Our weather is cool and even cold at the night time. Our summer was the coolest since records have been kept. You can have some of the cool temps. I will send them your way.
Stay cool.
ahhhh...I just can not image it hot right now. I am really enjoying our fall weather. Do make yourself a cup of tea...I heard that it really does cool you down. Believe it or not! Happy weekend.
I can close my eyes and practically image the heady, intoxicating menagerie of scents wafting up from such a street. Experiencing that would definitely perk up my mood, too.
I hope that you're week improves as it draws to a close, and that you're able to have a gorgeous weekend, sweet dear!
Big hugs,
♥ Jessica
Yes Karen you're right, you can't beat a green tea - but I'd recommend an iced green tea in this heat!
... Or even a peach tea is nice too!
You're speaking my language. I need such a pick me up right now. Green tea might just do the trick. I hope you're perked up now. : )
Hi Karen! I don't envy your hot weather too, as we had a torrid summer this year. Love the pictures of the market in Saigon, markets are always so fascinating!
Happy weekend! x
Hey, Thanks for stopping by and giving me your vote! Happy early Thanksgiving!

A cup of tea and a nice lie down is always a favourite activity, if only I could find the time. Cholon is an odd part of the city, isn't it? I did like it though.
